The Power Of Believing In Ourselves

How to truly start believing anything is possible and achieve your dreams!

Doesn't this time of year bring you back to your childlike self again? The movies, the Christmas lights, the crisp cool air, it reminds me of the time when I couldn't wait for the man in the big red suit to come to my house!

Isn't it funny that we believed that? I mean we didn't like kindof believe it, no, we full heartedly believed it. We believed in so much when we were younger, especially ourselves.


It all started with a simple question:

“What do you want to be when you grow up?”

Remember when people always asked us that when we were kids? What was your answer?

I bet your 5 year old self didn't stop and say:

"Oh but I could never!"

"No, I didn't go to school for that..."

"I've never done that before so I can't"

So what happened? When did the switch flip where we became such realists and stopped believing that we could do anything in the world.

Life happened...

We got older, and year after year that big bold confidence in everything we believed in began to be stripped and compartmentalized into buckets of only certain things. Every moment that was happy, funny, sad, embarrassing, or angry, began shifting our mindset to believe what we could and only ever be.

Welcome to the comfort zone

Yup, we got comfortable. We found our safe little corner that we know so well and stayed here for a bit too long. So now, anything outside of the comfort zone feels absolutely freaken TERRIFYING. Why is it so scary?! Because we do not believe in ourselves. A.K.A we lack confidence in who we are.

So what can we do?

It's time to start believing in ourselves so that we can start building confidence for any adventure we decide to take next. How can we build confidence?

One of the best ways to build confidence is to change the way we are speaking to ourselves through positive affirmations.

Now, here is the most important part. You cannot just say the words... you need to feel the words.

Affirmations for success

State these affirmations while incorporating breath work! Breath work is a great way to come to the present moment and be in touch with your body, which will make your affirmations have more feeling behind them when you speak them. Try this simple breath work to start!

  • Count to 8 on your inhale in

  • Hold for 4 counts

  • Breath out for 12 counts

Do this several times until you feel present and ready to state your affirmations.

As you begin stating these affirmations with the breath work, you will find that each and every day you will become more confident. Your belief in yourself and these words will grow and you will be prepared for any action you take.
